A fire early this morning caused about $10,000 damage to a building in the Lemon Creek area.
Firefighters responded to the structure at 5690 Glacier Highway around 3 a.m. The building houses eight apartments and a Subway sandwich shop.
Assistant Chief Ed Quinto with Capital City Fire/Rescue says firefighters arrived to find smoke from the second floor and flames visible on the back side of the building. Quinto says firefighters entered one of the apartments and doused the fire in a bedroom.
No other units were damaged and there were no injuries reported.
The fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
