While some Cooperative Extension programs go on the road, Sarah Lewis takes hers on the water. Every summer she navigates the waters of Southeast Alaska in her family boat and pulls up to remote communities to teach classes in food preservation and small business development. While it’s an adventure, Lewis says her Maritime Extension program also helps to cut travel costs.
