Mike’s Bio:
I started playing piano at age seven (thanks, Mrs. Anderson!) and guitar in 2005. I’ve taught private piano and guitar lessons for ten years through my own studio Nagoonberries Music, as adjunct faculty at the University of Alaska, and with Thrush Hill Music.
I was born and raised in Juneau. I have a Masters of Arts in Education from the University of Alaska. I am certified to teach kindergarten through 8th grade and I taught elementary music at Mendenhall River Community School in the Juneau school district from 2006 – 2017.
I produce pop and rock music as Blue Nagoon. I’ve played in and directed many groups and accompanied a variety of artists in Juneau.
