The Sealaska Heritage Institute’s Indigenous Science Building is a hub for SHI’s education programs and hands-on learning grounded in Indigenous knowledge, languages, and values. It features a traditional foods kitchen, three cutting-edge labs, including a digital media lab and an Indigenous science lab. Guests: Kellie Patricia Lynch, STEAM Program Manager, Joe Zuboff, Cultural Specialist for the Cultural Warriors program, and Paul Leininger, Indigenous Science Building and Program Associate.
Southeast Alaska Independent Living’s Learn to Adapt Day is at Eaglecrest on Saturday, February 21. It is a free event open to the public and allows anyone to demo sit skis and stand-up outriggers. More information at sailinc.org.

Kin Support Program’s Positive Indigenous Parenting series is designed to help people connect with positive indigenous parenting practices, and is adaptable to the culture of the region through the inclusion of local knowledge bearers and elders. Theater at Latitude 58 in partnership with Juneau Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé presents Lerner and Loewe’s “Camelot.” The production runs Friday, February 20, through Sunday, March 1.
The Marie Drake Planetarium and Juneau Nordic Ski Club will set up Planet Ski at the Mendenhall campground. Over a groomed ski trail, start at the Sun, then visit the 8 planets of the solar system. It will be present from February 14 – 22.

“Acoustic Turbulence” is a bold fusion of music, dance, visual art, and poetry that celebrates the bumblebee’s poetic journey and the soul it symbolizes. With original music, poetry, and choreography, this performance follows a spirit’s transformative path from challenge and uncertainty to truth, peace, and unity with the divine. It will play only two shows on Saturday, February 21, and Sunday, February 22, at the Thunder Mountain School auditorium. Hali Duran, W. Todd Hunt, and Anouk Otsea share more about this new original piece and the collaboration that has gone into bringing it to life.

JAHMI Health and Wellness is celebrating its 40th anniversary with screenings of its Lookback Film Project at Glacier Cinemas on Friday, February 13.
