Outside of KTOO, I tell stories via theatre, film and audio projects.
Dr. Jes Young is the new gynecologist at Bartlett Family Medicine (formerly known as Family Practice Physicians). She works as a general practitioner, but with specialties in menopause and sexual medicine. Dr. Young shares what her goals are and how she works with patients to specialize and create a one-on-one plan of care.
“Bees in Juneau” is a photo exhibit created from a local competition and is part of a larger project called “Acoustic Turbulence” by the Orpheus Project. The photo exhibit opens on First Friday, February 6, and runs for the month at Spice Cafe.

The Alaska Music Summit hosted by MusicAlaska (originally known as AKIMI) seeks to elevate music across Alaska. The summit is for music performers, bookers, technicians, teachers, and community members. It takes place Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1 with panels, workshops and more.
Sarah Lewis previews upcoming courses and classes from the UAF Cooperative Extension here in Juneau. Classes include Brain Health, Bone Health, and a spring kitchen series.

Theater Alaska premieres a new play from Merry Ellefson, “These Birds: A play inspired by death, flowers, and Farkle.” It’s an interview-based play inspired by conversations with Juneau residents about death and dying. The production uses movement, puppetry, an original score, and an ensemble of eight performers. The play will be performed around Juneau in a variety of spaces, with both paid and free performances.
