Peace Talk

The next Focus On Community, August 15th, will be hosted by Juneau’s Veterans For Peace. Their program, titled “Peace Talk”, will examine the results of the VFP national convention, convening in Portland August 6-7, 2011. The most controversial issue at the convention is a proposed resolution calling for the impeachment of President Obama for his war policies, including the Libya incursion. One of the show’s hosts, Rich Moniak, is attending the convention and will speak about it on the program.

Left Hanging – July 26, 2011

This edition of Left Hanging  is centered around “She-roes”. Host Ms G based the show around this quote by Dr. Maya Angelou, “How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our she-roes!”.  The episode features short stories and poems that promote the awesome roles of the women in our lives; Grandmothers, Mothers, Aunts, Sistahs, etc.
