Special “Tideline” Folk Fest Week

All week we have a fabulous line up for “Tideline”. Each night DJ’s are going to do an hour in the KRNN studio with live musicians and performance, and then in the second hour we’re going to go live to the KTOO-TV studios where a special recording will be happing all week called “Alaska Originals”. Musicans from around Juneau and the state have been hand selected to record a special concert that will be made in to a Statewide TV program for broadcast later this year. This recording is not open to the public but you’ll have front row seats at this special recording by tuning in to KRNN.

5p – 7p: two hours chock full of live performance.  The Gospel Choir, Irene Muller, The Henhouse (Wenday Jo and Lizzie), Sammy Burrous (going to need tech support! electric guitar), Interview w/ Sat Nam Kaur Khalsa (Bhangra workshop), A little noodling w/ Noodle of Doum. A funky folky line up!

Alaska Identity Project 4/5/12

Tune into the Alaska Identity Project on Thursday, April 5, 2012. In the spirit of the KTOO pledge drive this week, the show guests will all focus on the topic of giving and contributing to the community. Host Adrien Lopez will interview Kirby Day, Director of Shore Operations for Princess Cruises, Pacific Northwest and Alaska, and Bob Janes, owner of Gastineau Guiding. They will discuss the the tourism industry’s contributions to Juneau and Alaska (7:00 – 7:30 PM). In the second half of the show, I’ll talk with Mike Walsh, MPA, Ph.D, Vice President of Operations for the Foraker Group, and Cassandra Stazler, Communications Manager for the Rasmuson Foundation (7:30 – 8:00 PM).
