Tune into the Alaska Identity Project on Thursday, March 22, 2012. Host Adrien Lopez will interview Dr. Jeep Rice, Program Manager of Habitat Assessment & Marine Chemistry for the Alaska Fisheries Science Center (NOAA). With the upcoming 23rd Anniversary of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill, we’ll discuss his role and extensive field work conducted after that tragic event (7:00 – 7:30 PM). In the second half of the show, we’ll talk with Michael Goldstein, Executive Director of the Alaska Coastal Rainforest Center (7:30 – 8:00 PM).

Katie Bausler will tell us about upcoming public programs at UAS; we’ll hear from Mary Walker, Executive Director of Stewards of Creation and Father Thomas Weise Parish Priest for Wrangell and Petersburg, who are conducting a series of workshops and panel discussion in Juneau on global climate change under the title One People, One Earth ; Jim Geraghty will tell us about this week’s fireside lecture at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor’s Center – he’ll be showing a photographic history of President Warren G. Harding’s 1923 visit to Alaska including a photo of the first Presidential visit to a glacier; and Steve Kocsis will introduce Dennis Mammana, whio will be delivering a program Monday night on photographing the Northern Lights at Marie Drake Planetarium.
