Tune into the Alaska Identity Project on Thursday, April 5, 2012. In the spirit of the KTOO pledge drive this week, the show guests will all focus on the topic of giving and contributing to the community. Host Adrien Lopez will interview Kirby Day, Director of Shore Operations for Princess Cruises, Pacific Northwest and Alaska, and Bob Janes, owner of Gastineau Guiding. They will discuss the the tourism industry’s contributions to Juneau and Alaska (7:00 – 7:30 PM). In the second half of the show, I’ll talk with Mike Walsh, MPA, Ph.D, Vice President of Operations for the Foraker Group, and Cassandra Stazler, Communications Manager for the Rasmuson Foundation (7:30 – 8:00 PM).

Tune into the Alaska Identity Project on Thursday, March 22, 2012. Host Adrien Lopez will interview Dr. Jeep Rice, Program Manager of Habitat Assessment & Marine Chemistry for the Alaska Fisheries Science Center (NOAA). With the upcoming 23rd Anniversary of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill, we’ll discuss his role and extensive field work conducted after that tragic event (7:00 – 7:30 PM). In the second half of the show, we’ll talk with Michael Goldstein, Executive Director of the Alaska Coastal Rainforest Center (7:30 – 8:00 PM).

Host Adrien Lopez will interview Dr. Kevin Krein, Co-owner and Lead Guide for Alaska Powder Descents (7:00 – 7:30 PM), and then in the second half of the show talk with Katie Hurley, a member of the Alaska Women’s Hall of Fame for her dedication to public service for over 60 years in Alaska (7:30 – 8:00 PM).

Host Adrien Lopez will interview Amy Gulick, professional photographer and author of Salmon in the Trees: Life in Alaska’s Tongass Rain Forest, a 2010 Independent Publisher Book Award winner (7:00 – 7:30 PM), and then in the second half of the show talk with Lorrie Heagy, the 2011 Alaska Teacher of the Year from Glacier Valley Elementary School in Juneau (7:30 – 8:00 PM).
