Alaska Identity Project 2/9/12

Tune into the Alaska Identity Project on Thursday, February 9, 2012. Host Adrien Lopez will interview the Executive Director of the Marine Exchange of Alaska and Retired U.S. Coast Guard Captain, Ed Page (7:00 – 7:30 PM), and then in the second half of the show talk with Mike Bell, Director of the University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) Center for Mine Training (7:30 – 8:00 PM).

Alaska Identity Project 2/2/12

Tune into the Alaska Identity Project on Thursday, February 2, 2012 as host Adrien Lopez interviews Sally Smith (7:00 – 7:30 PM), Field Representative for U.S. Senator Mark Begich, former Juneau Mayor, State Representative for Fairbanks and Director of two state agencies, among other notable accomplishments.

In the second part of the show (7:30 – 8PM), Adrien will briefly interview members of the Juneau World Affairs Council (Jim Clark and Loren Jones) about their upcoming WorldQuest trivia fundraiser on Friday, February 3 at 6:30 PM and then talk with Jocelyn Clark, Ph.D. from Harvard University, currently Assistant Professor for East Asian Arts and Culture at Pai Chai University in Daejeon, S. Korea, and founder of the music festival, CrossSound.

 

 

Alaska Identity Project 1/26/12

Tune into the Alaska Identity Project on Thursday, January 26, 2012 as host Adrien Lopez interviews Larry Johansen (7 – 7:30 PM), author of “XTRATUF: An Alaskan Way of Life,” and soon to be published “Alexander Eighteen: The Story of Eighteen Wilderness Areas in Alaska.” Check out his work here and here.

In the second part of the show (7:30 – 8PM), Adrien will air a pre-recorded interview with Brian P. Schmidt, 2011 Nobel Prize Winner in Physics (and part Alaskan – graduate of Bartlett High School in Anchorage) for providing evidence that the expansion of the universe is accelerating. Alaska Identity Project 1/19/12

Tune into the Alaska Identity Project on Thursday, January 19, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. to hear host Adrien Lopez talk with Ray Riutta, Executive Director of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI). From 7:30 – 8:00 PM, Inupiaq Artist Vernon Rexford, born and raised in Barrow, Alaska, will discuss his work with baleen, ivory, and other natural resources from the North Slope, as well as his path to becoming an artist.

Alaska Identity Project 1/12/12

Tune into the Alaska Identity Project on Thursday, January 12, to hear host Adrien Lopez talk with former Lt. Governor and Chancellor of UAA, Fran Ulmer. She was recently appointed by President Obama to chair the Arctic Research Commission.
