We’ll listen to the final part of a series of 7 specials highlighting the history of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, produced by Nellie Moore and 360 North; We’ll find out about the series of Brown Bag presentations centering on homelessness; Ben Brown will be here to highlight the upcoming Presidential Preference Poll; and we’ll get a preview of tonight’s workshop & performance with Moira Smiley & VOCO.

Juneau Afternoon 3/2/12

Today at 3 on A Juneau Afternoon, Pat Moore will host. He’ll talk to UAS student artists Bonilyn Parker and Chelsie Harris about the Presentation they’ll be making on their Capstone course in the UAS fine arts program tonight; We’ll meet Megan Gregory, AWARE’s Young Woman of Distinction this year, who’ll be joining the other three award winners in an upcoming presentation at Centennial Hall; Jim Clark and Sally Smith will update us on Sunday’s speech by Senator Mark Begich; And we’ll get a preview of tonight’s Fireside Lecture by Hank Lentfer on SandHill Cranes.

“A Juneau Afternoon” 3/1/12

Today at 3 pm on A Juneau Afternoon, host Jeff Brown will talk with the Juneau Student Symphony about upcoming performances this weekend, we’ll hear about this year’s Women of Distinction event, Hanna Sebold will be in to tell us about “Success Inside and Out”, and Nancy DeCherney give us highlights on the events happening this weekend with Arts UP.

Today at 3 pm on A Juneau Afternoon, host Pat Moore will broadcast Part 5 of the series ANCSA@40; George Schaff, Juneau Parks and Landscape Superintendent, and Chris Mertl, the Principal Landscape Architect with Corvus Design, will be in to tell us of a series of upcoming public hearings to redesign Capital School Park; and Carin Smolin, Career and Technical Education Coordinator with the Juneau School District will update us on JSD happenings during February’s Career and Technical Education Month.

A Juneau Afternoon 2/17/12

Today at 3 p.m. on A Juneau Afternoon, Pat Moore will host. Katie Bausler will tell us about upcoming public programs at UAS; we’ll hear from Mary Walker, Executive Director of Stewards of Creation and Father Thomas Weise Parish Priest for Wrangell and Petersburg, who are conducting a series of workshops and panel discussion in Juneau on global climate change under the title One People, One Earth ; Jim Geraghty will tell us about this week’s fireside lecture at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor’s Center – he’ll be showing a photographic history of President Warren G. Harding’s 1923 visit to Alaska including a photo of the first Presidential visit to a glacier; and Steve Kocsis will introduce Dennis Mammana, whio will be delivering a program Monday night on photographing the Northern Lights at Marie Drake Planetarium.
