We’ll talk with Rick Trostel about Friday’s pirate-themed concerts by the Juneau Student Symphony; we’ll find out about the Valley Library’s 39 Clues party this Saturday; and Ed Schoenfeld will interview NPR’s Peter Kenyon, prior to Peter’s talk before the Juneau World Affairs Council tonight at 5 at the JACC.

We’ll talk with actors involved in this week’s WHIRLY-GIG show at the Rondezvous; we’ll get the details about tomorrow’s Governor’s Picnic; and Beth Weigel will get us in shape for this month’s BEAT THE ODDS Run, plus hear 3 more bear stories.

“Willful Creatures”, what a great description for all the characters that one can possibly encounter in literature. It is also the name of Aimee Bender’s book of short stories. And she writes like one of her own “willful creatures”. She has been described as ‘Hemingway on an acid trip”; and her work has been described as “twisted” and “ethereal”. You be the judge.

We’ll find out about tomorrow’s observance of Landscape Architecture Day, with guest George Schaaf; we’ll learn about an upcoming voice workshop for people recovering from a stroke and Parkinson’s Disease, with guest, Ruthanna Metzgar; we’ll find out about this Saturday’s Nifty 50 Relay with organizer Keith Levy; and Kristen Bartlett will be here to help us get ready to go back to school

We’ll talk with Bob Vieth and Mary Hakala about STEM’s SATURDAY THING; Simon Roberts will give us an update on THUNDERCLOUD RADIO; and we’ll find out about some workshops on insights into death & dying, the Garden of Eden, and Kung Fu – offered by Temple Sukkat Shalom.
