Pony Express on Crosscurrents 4/14

Near midnight on April 14, 1860, the first mail bag was delivered by the Pony Express to San Francisco from Missouri after ten days gallop.  The rider and his pony are chased by Gavin and Wyatt away from the express post as John and his playlist gather in the studio for broadcast.  Even if you are not a pony rider, you can join the Pony Express celebration by being a radio listener to Crosscurrents, 4/14 at 8 a.m.

Wordsworth on Crosscurrents 4/7

William Wordsworth, born in the Lake District of England on April 7, 1770, was inspired by Nature’s beauty and helped begin the Romantic age in English literature.  Gavin and Wyatt, the dogs, share Wordsworth’s love for a spontaneous expression of feeling in life while John, the host, shares a regard for a planned communication of music in radio.  You can join the Romantic movement by listening to the Wordsworth birthday party on Crosscurrents, 4/7 at 8 a.m.

Descartes on Crosscurrents 3/31

Descartes.GW_650X360René Descartes, born on March 31, 1596, offered a philosophical outline for the natural sciences by thinking that science is an activity of the discerning mind using one brief phrase “I think, therefore I am.”  Wyatt and Gavin suggest a different axiom, namely: “I bark, therefore I stay.”  You can join John as he attempts to confirm his existence while thinking of music to play on Crosscurrents, 3/31 at 8 a.m.

Bayou land deal on Crosscurrents 3/10

louisiana.GW_650x360The Louisiana Purchase, formalized by a flag ceremony on March 10th 1804, was the procurement by the United States from France of 530 million acres covering land the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains.  Gavin and Wyatt have reviewed the Louisiana Purchase Map and realize their home yard frontier fence will need to be expanded out.  You are invited to celebrate the Louisiana Purchase and join John as he plays music from the Cajun Bayou on Crosscurrents, 3/10 at 8 a.m.
