Tune into the Alaska Identity Project on Thursday, April 5, 2012. In the spirit of the KTOO pledge drive this week, the show guests will all focus on the topic of giving and contributing to the community. Host Adrien Lopez will interview Kirby Day, Director of Shore Operations for Princess Cruises, Pacific Northwest and Alaska, and Bob Janes, owner of Gastineau Guiding. They will discuss the the tourism industry’s contributions to Juneau and Alaska (7:00 – 7:30 PM). In the second half of the show, I’ll talk with Mike Walsh, MPA, Ph.D, Vice President of Operations for the Foraker Group, and Cassandra Stazler, Communications Manager for the Rasmuson Foundation (7:30 – 8:00 PM).

We’ll talk with Anne Fuller about workshop opportunities during next week’s 38th Annual Alaska Folk Festival; we’ll talk to some of the photographers involved in Friday’s show here at the KTOO Building; Bryan Crowder, from the UAS Theatre Department, will be here to highlight this weekend’s performances of Little Murders; and Nancy DeCherney will give us the rundown on art happenings in the capital city during Arts Up.

We’ll talk with Sarah Asper-Smith and Alysia Jones about art workshops and woodturning demonstrations at the City Museum; Kristi West & Jess Brown, from the Zach Gordon Youth Center, will be here with word about this weekend’s Easter Egg Hunt; we’ll get a preview of tonight’s Bearfoot concert at the JACC.

Today at 3 on KTOO-FM on A Juneau Afternoon, Pat Moore will host. He’ll talk with author Colleen Mondor about her new book, Map of My Dead Pilots, prior to her presentation and booksigning tonight at Hearthside Books; we’ll find out about this week’s dance workshops and performance with Melissa Thodos of the Thodos dance troupe; and we’ll learn about upcoming extreme sports events with Craig Brown.

We’ll find out about tomorrow night’s Mudrooms event with guests Amanda Compton & Geoff Kirsch; we’ll get the details on the upcoming Coastal Temperate Rainforest Symposium; we’ll talk with artist Charity Green; and Beth Weigel will be here to remind us about this weekend’s Discovery Southeast Dinner & Auction.
