John Dunker will join host Rich Moniak in a live telephone interview with Doug Rawlings from Maine. Doug is one of founding members of VFP. Like John, he served in Vietnam. John was instrumental in establishing Juneau’s chapter of VFP.
What most people probably don’t know is VFP was founded in 1985, not during the Vietnam war or as a result of the Iraq war. And locally most people are only familiar with John and other veterans as activists. So the discussion will center around the VFP story on a group level while also pieces of Doug and John’s individual narratives. The idea is to offer listeners a portrait of VFP’s commitment to peace through personal stories.
