Alaska Identity Project 5/3/12

Tune into the Alaska Identity Project on Thursday, May 3, 2012. Host Adrien Lopez will first interview Danny Consenstein, State Executive Director for the Alaska Farm Service Agency, USDA (7:00 – 7:30 PM). In the second half of the show, she’ll talk with Linnea Osborne and Carl Brodersen, board members of the Alaska Commercial Fishermen’s Memorial (ACFM), about the upcoming Blessing of the Fleet event on Saturday, May 5, 2012 in Juneau (7:30 – 8:00 PM).

Juneau Afternoon 5/3/12

Today at 3 on KTOO-FM on A Juneau Afternoon, Pat Moore hosts. Ati Naseah and Mark Calvert, from AWARE, will be here to talk about the installation of the CHOOSE RESPECT Mural on the KTOO Building; we’ll get a preview of Sunday’s concert by the Hot Club of Cowtown, as part of the Juneau Jazz & Classics Festival; Tanya Cadigan, from Caribou Crossing, will bring Kodiak artist Lisa McCormick by to tell us about her First Friday opening at Tanya’s Caribou Crossing galary; Addison Field, Curator of Collections and
Exhibits at the Juneau-Douglas City Museum, will bring us up to date on what’s up at the City Museum and will introduce Averyl Veliz, who’s opening an exhibit of backgrounds for a 2-D hand-drawn film she’s working on; and Nancy DeCherney will give us the rundown on art happenings in the capital city during Arts Up.

Juneau Afternoon 5/2/12

We’ll talk with Paul Rosenthal and Jessalyn Rintala about classical concerts offered during this year’s Juneau Jazz & Classics Festival; Stacey Poulson will be here to highlight upcoming activities at the Nugget Mall; Kathy Calvin, tonight’s Juneau World Affairs council speaker, will talk about Alaska and the United Nations; Lucy Merrill will be here with details about Saturday’s concert by the Celebration Handbell Ringers; and we’ll learn about Bigfoot and other Lost Souls, opening this week at Perseverance Theatre.
