Pat Moore will host. We’ll find out about Friday night’s Ball in honor of Alaska Day, with singer, Alaska’s Kit and Doug Bridges, sax player with Kit and the Kaboodles, the band who’ll play for the event; Keith Butler, Chief Chemist with the Milan Army Munitions Plant in Milan, TN, will be here with a preview of his talk tonight on Military Explosives; we’ll hear an update on the Alaska Federation of Natives meetings being held this week in Anchorage; and Nancy DeCherney will be here with news and views about local activities during Arts Up.

We’ll talk with Alaskan author, Debbie Miller; Alysia Jones, from the City Museum, will be here to talk about a Digital Storytelling workshop; Ariel Rolfe and Angela Gowdy, from Capital City RotarAct, will be here to highlight the upcoming Fest for Breasts; and Christie Naame Eriksen and Nahaan will be here with details about this weekend’s Poetry Grand Slam at the Canvas.

We’ll get the details on tonight’s Evening at Egan presentation by Dr. Thomas King and some other upcoming events on the UAS campus from Lance Twitchell, an instructor in the university’s Native Studies Program and Nae Tmoolak,one of his students.
Barney McClure will be here to highlight this week’s cabaret concert, Singin’ in the Rain;
We’ll talk with author Ana Maria Spagna about tonight’s library presentation and Saturday’s writing workshop;
And we’ll find out about the JDHS production of
The Curious Savage, with director, Michaela Moore, and three members of the csst, Jessica Sullivan, Angela Wright, and Ellen Dyar.

Alaska Identity Project 10/13/11

Host Adrien Lopez will first interview Brandon Smith, Brewing Operations Manager, and Ashley Johnston, Communications Manager, of Alaskan Brewing Company. Brandon will talk about the topic of sustainable brewing and how the company became the first craft brewery in the United States to install and operate a carbon dioxide (CO2) reclamation system. Ashley will discuss the 25 year anniversary of Alaskan Brewing, its efforts to market their products around the United States and the Alaskan pride that has emerged from their success.
