The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta gathered Thursday, June 7, to honor and lay to rest beloved legendary broadcaster and storyteller John Active. The funeral services began at 2 p.m. as more than 300 friends and family packed the Bethel Moravian Church to say “Tue-i-ngunrituq,” or “this is not the last time,” to John Joseph Aqumgaciq Active.

Bartlett hospital workers to get pay increase in new labor contract
Workers at Juneau’s hospital will see a gradual pay raise over the next three years. The negotiated contract is projected to increase labor costs by about $4.1 million at the public hospital.
