New Sealaska land bills introduced in Congress
Alaska’s congressional delegation today introduced new Sealaska land-selection bills. Both would turn about 70,000 acres of the Tongass National Forest over to Sealaska, the regional Native corporation for Southeast Alaska.

A memorial service for Tlingit elder and original Sealaska Corporation board member Clarence Jackson will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. at the ANB Hall in Juneau. Jackson died Thursday after a battle with cancer. He was 78.
